About Us

Who We Are

welcome

Welcome to GBC

We are a gathering of Christian believers from Gilnahirk and the surrounding area. We are passionate about God’s Word, the Bible – it is where we can know who God is, what He’s done, and how He would have us live. It is the source of the Good News that Jesus Christ came to save us from our sins and welcome us into His family for all eternity. And so, we gather regularly as a family to worship Him, pray together, share in the communion meal, support and encourage one another as we seek to know God and make Him known

We are a varied family of ages and stages of life, from babies to great grandparents! We would love for you to join us at any of our gatherings, where we hope you will find a warm, informal and homely welcome.

Hopefully you will be able to find out some more information about us through these pages, and we look forward to having the opportunity to meet you in person soon. If there is anything we can do or help with until then, please get in touch.

What We Believe

Statement of Faith

The Doctrinal Statement of the Church, which is regarded as a summary of those doctrines commonly held by the Church and is subordinate to Scripture.

Body Life

Office Bearers

Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church – it is (we are) His. As disciples of Jesus, He welcomes us into His family, the Church, and the Bible gives a number of images to help us understand the Church (e.g. the body in 1 Corinthians 12:12-31; the bride in Ephesians 5:25-27 and a building in 1 Peter 2:4-5, 9-10). These images give the clear understanding that each member of the Church is as valued and important as any other, and thereby gifted to help encourage and build up the whole Church (e.g. Ephesians 4;12, Hebrews 10:24-25).

In order to serve the whole Church family, Scripture outlines two offices of Elder and Deacon, (e.g. 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:6-9). In following the Biblical example, the members of GBC have appointed the following people to serve the congregation under God’s ultimate leadership and authority.

Who we support

Partnerships

You will find a selection of organisations and individuals which we support as a church family.

I wonder have you ever thought about how a church comes into existence?

Well, the Gilnahirk story is a truly fascinating one. In some ways it’s so simple, but in another it’s such a clear example of the wonder of our God.
