Chinese Authorities Crack down on Chinese Christian Lawyer for Defending Human Rights

Our Chinese brother faces a life sentence – for defending human rights Chinese Christian lawyer Jiang Tianyong has not been seen since he disappeared last November. Now, his family have been told he’s been charged with trying to overthrow the regime – and faces a potential life sentence. Jiang Tianyong went missing as he returned from visiting the family of a fellow lawyer who had been detained during the July 2015 crackdown on ‘dissidents’. Jiang is thought to have been held incommunicado in an illegal ‘black jail’ until now. Please pray for peace and perseverance for our brother Jiang Tianyong […]

Release of Petr Jasek

SUDAN: FREEDOM FOR OUR CZECH BROTHER PETR February 27, 2017 Czech Christian aid worker Petr Jašek is reported to be safely back in Prague after Sudan’s President pardoned him and released him from jail yesterday. The Czech Foreign Minister brought Petr home last night after flying out to Khartoum to negotiate his release earlier the same day. Thank you for your prayers. Let’s praise God for Petr’s release – and step up our prayers for Pastor Hassan and Abdulmonem, the two Sudanese men jailed with him. Petr was given a life sentence for ‘spying’ and ‘inciting hatred’, among other charges, […]

Request for Help to free Andrew Brunson

FREE ANDREW Brunson– who is currently being held in a Turkish jail   Izmir church Christian pastor Andrew Brunson (above left) has lived and worked in Turkey for the past 23 years and, with his wife Norine (above right – looking at the detention centre where her husband has been held), has helped in the ministry of the Izmir Resurrection Church on the west coast. As a couple they have a deep love for, and commitment to, the Turkish people. Andrew was cautiously optimistic when Turkey’s Interior Ministry summoned him on October 7, 2016. Both he and his wife had been […]

Prayer request for the suffering Church

Prayer request for the suffering Church

We at Gilnahirk Baptist have found it a useful tool in praying for some of those who have been Imprisoned for their Faith and their families by looking at some of their pictures. It puts a face to the name and makes it more real. These people are suffering because they believe in Jesus Christ. China: Pastor Yang Hua has been in police custody since December 9 ,2015, when he was detained after he resisted the authorities attempts to confiscate a computer hard drive belonging to the church. On 22 January 2016, the authorities increased the severity of the charge […]

Release International

In restricted nations around the world Christians face detention and torture, simply for following Jesus Christ. In countries such as Burma, China, Eritrea, North Korea, Pakistan, Vietnam and others, Christian pastors, evangelists and ordinary believers are in prison today because of their active Christian witness.   Imagine being detained without trial, perhaps even tortured being unable to see your family, for months, or years enduring often terrible conditions     Release’s Prisoners of Faith ministry gives pastoral care and practical support to Christians imprisoned for their faith in Jesus Christ, and their families. We encourage supporters in the UK and […]
