As part of our vision series #InOutUpThro we are examining each of these four movements and working out exactly how we can begin to move in that direction together as a church.
We are a church that moves out, proclaiming the good news about Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. As we move out we shall:
1. Host one or two large evangelistic events per year
These large community-focused events serve two purposes. As a church who loves our local community, we pull out all the stops to host an engaging and attractive event that serves those around us. Secondly this provides those in the church with a great opportunity to invite friends and family who don’t usually attend church.
2. Send a church work team out by 2017
Whether it is to another part of Belfast, further afield in Ireland or to somewhere exotic, we plan to send out teams to help, bless and encourage other Christian ministries and churches across the globe.
3. Create a missions profile
We shall partner with five missionary agencies as a church in order to bring much needed clarity, attention and support, both in terms of prayer and finance.
4. Increase the intentionality of our existing ministry structures
There are already a number of key ministries happening around the church. This objective involves working with the leaders of each ministry and asking ourselves how we can become even more intentional about connecting with those outside of the church.
5. Plant and/or replant a fresh congregation by 2020
As a logical and biblical response to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) we will start organising and preparing ourselves to plant (brand new congregation) and/or replant (re-establish an existing but struggling congregation) within the next five years.
6. Set up a community engagement team
This is a group of people who have the specific task of engaging with existing community institutions (schools, community groups etc.) and work out how we as a church can serve them.

Whilst these six objectives by no means exhaust what it means to move out, we believe that they will help us to step in the right direction as we do them.
